Most mornings, between 7:00 and 7:55 am, I tumble out my front door and into my Mini. I sling my custom Timbuk2 bag into the passenger seat as I motor up and over the hill to work. I pretty much keep the passenger belt buckled all the time so as to avoid the beep, beep, beep all the way to work since anything over 5 pounds seems to trigger the seat belt reminder. This morning was special, though, because not one, not two, but three bicyclists in a row stopped at a light next to me, each with a unique Timbuk2 messenger bag slung over his or her shoulder. I guess we San Franciscans know good design when we see it. As long as we can personalize the uniform, no one seems to mind.
I am eagerly awaiting the release of the new iphone on Friday. I hope that I will be able to easily post field notes (and pictures) on the go.
