is walking our Christmas tree home. Two years ago, the Delancey Street Foundation started locating one of its tree lots near the park at Hayes & Octavia. Ever since shoving a 6′ tree from the Marina into our apartment three years ago, I make it a tradition to purchase a small tree that is effortlessly carried by one or two people a few blocks over, up the stairs, and into our window in a matter of minutes and with very little pine needle mess. Because we know it’s all about the scent more than the size of the tree anyway.

I love this time of year – to follow one’s heart, to give gifts to people that you love and to celebrate traditions that keep families alive. Life is good and full of wonderful blessings. Enjoy your tree!
